| Doubletake kennels is a small kennel located in the heart of North Carolina about 45 minutes outside of charlotte. Breeding since 1999. Showing since 2002. We specialize in healthy, quality socialized pit bulls and american staffordshire terriers of all colors and sizes. We offer world wide shipping to approved homes. All dogs are sold on contract and all potential owners are subject to referance and or background check. Here at Doubletake Kennels we have all fencing no chains and all dogs live indoors. We spend a lot of time with all our dogs and make sure the puppies are well socialized . If you don't have time to spend with your animal just dont get one they need attention and love as anything alive does. I dont treat these dogs as possessions but as members of my family. | American Pit Bull Terrier breed Discription Known for there intelligence and Loyalty american pit bull terriers make excellent companions loving and protective companions. Despite the unfair press they receive. A common Question regarding the APBT is "How is this Breed different from the American Staffordshire Terrier?" In the eyes of the united kennel Club they are the same breed. But many disagree . Some AKC registered American Staffordshire are dual registered as American Pit Bulls with the UKC. Although this gets criticism from many that point out the blood lines have been separate for too long to be considered the same breed. The AKC on the other hand does not allow the UKC American pit bull terrier to be registered as an American Staffordshire Terrier. To be dual registered the dogs must first be AKC registered and then it can be registered UKC but not vice versa. Height should be 18-22 inches, Weight 30-60 pounds. | American Staffordshire Terrier Breed Description The American Staffordshire's muscled built and protective instinct should make strangers beware, yet with there own family the are devoted, gentle and loving. They are a courageous and tenacious fighter if provoked. Training can be a challenge because of there pushy yet sensitive character. There natural temperament toward people is gentle and loving, unfortunately some have been improperly handled. Giving the American Staffordshire a bad rap. Height should be 17-19 in.
